Synopsis:
Two bodies. Different physicalities, different backgrounds, different strengths and weaknesses, different languages… Same gender: Irene and Ronita experience their feminine power both in its commonly stereotyped vulnerability and its androgynous strength, sharing the same desire of exploring the concept of 'power' in its widest spectrum, independently from their gender but with no attempt to oppress their natural sexuality.
Power is made of a delicate balance between control (in which we are actively involved) and freedom (that we passively experience). There is an implicit bipolarity and a consequent dynamic balance within the concept of ‘power’: it depends on the control we achieve within the boundaries of our own freedom.
Power transforms the body and manifests in vary binomial physical states, such as: steadiness and mobility, fight and flight, resistance and surrender, conflict and alliance…
By challenging the body and observing its natural reactions, it is possible to pursuit a practice-based investigation into our human relation to power, both as power-holders and power-subjected.
Considering ‘strength' as the ability to quickly adapt and find intuitive solutions, Power-trip is an ongoing process of generating creative responses to power, trusting the body and its physical intelligence.
